The house is located overlooking the Lafontaine valley. This small Francophone community has a beautiful historic church, liquor sore, two little restaurants and a good delicatessen. There is a small art gallery.
PENETANGUISHENE
This small village located on the shores of Penetanguishene Harbour has approximately 4000 homes and is a town with a long history. It is only one of three communities in Ontario with a significant population of Francophones and it also has a large Métis population. The main street drops steeply down to the busy harbour. It has a waterfront park with trails that are perfect for evening strolls. At the end of town you can access the old rail trail that goes over eleven bridges and through wooded areas all the way to Barrie. This is just one of the many popular bike trails in he area. The hospital has a beautiful outdoor Chartres style labyrinth open for public walks .
MIDLAND
This is another busy harbour town on Georgian Bay. Only ten minutes away, it has shopping, restaurants and a lovely cultural centre complete with art galleries and gift shops. Like all the communities in the area it has a long history associated with Great Lake shipping and commerce. The town has a Huron village reconstruction and a charming small museum . Inside the town limits is a small lake with peaks, a rowing club and community gardens. Midland town history.
