About Me

I am retired and an avid gardener. Recently widowed, I am looking forward to returning to enthusiastic travel. We have travelled and home swapped for years.  I live on a 50 acre rural property on the Huronia peninsula in Georgian Bay Ontario. We fell in love with these historic squared timbered buildings and collected them from all over the province. Many many summers were spent reconstructing these buildings on the property. The kitchen of the house was an original homestead, built in 1858  by an Irish immigrant for his wife and cows. By the next winter he was able to construct another building and the cows moved out. The  home is set in large gardens and woods and overlooks a farming village.  There is a pink log studio, pool, greenhouse  and other outbuildings and the front living room and sunroom  windows  have a panoramic view of the gardens and the small Francophone village of Lafontaine.

The gardens are lovely... And the whole place is conducive to the laid back living style I love.
